Job Evaluation Planning and Implementation

This section provides key information for JE Leads and staff who are tasked with planning and implementing the Job Evaluation process.

Timetable and Phasing

SPRIG has been considering the benefits of implementing the process of Job Matching and Evaluation on a phased basis. This approach will allow the service to meet its obligations to assimilate staff on to Agenda For Change within a reasonable and realistic time scale.

The Matching Timetable has now approved by SPRIG, which sets out the timetable for Matching by job families. The timetable is for Matching only and not the assimilation process which will take longer. The timetable takes into account the request from the service not to set unrealistic deadlines and the fact that the CAJE system was not available to the Scottish NHS until the 5 th of January 2005. The paper also makes clear that SPRIG has accepted that Special Health Boards will need to vary the timetable to reflect their different workforce profile. Consequently Special Health Boards are requested to advise the Pay Modernisation Team of their proposed timetable.
